I am in Atlanta for a few days getting us ready for the January trade shows and right now, working on the November newsletter. I was working with these images of our new holiday decor line from Demdaco and I started to get a little teary eyed. I am so proud of these!! When I started doing this work, never in a million years did I think it would be sitting in front of me in 3-D delicately hand-painted and itching to get on someone's tree! I look at them and think what a long way they have come and then, how far I have come.
In a busy time when it never feels like it's all working, it's nice to take a moment to reflect on what you have accomplished. Coach taught me that. It gives you perspective and a little bit more road behind you. So whether it's four weeks of blogging, seven years of running a business, six weeks of having a new baby boy, 18 months of a new relationship, 28 years of teaching, or even three hours on a particularly hard day at work, try to take a moment to take a breath, turn around and look back to where you started. It may not always win you prizes or bring you to tears but it will most always make you a tiny bit proud.
