I did not go to Harvard. I like to think it was because they didn't really offer a good program in graphic design… but seriously.
I have always had a bit of a crush on the place. Especially this time of year. The smell of dry leaves and a little chill in the air set me off daydreaming about locking up my vintage bike after crew practice and wrapping a chunky scarf around my neck while running off to my French Lit class or roaming the stacks at Widener in a wool shift and blazer with shiny buttons. As you can see, my fantasy centers around my outfits not my studies. Shocking.
One of my favorite movies of all time is Love Story with Ali MacGraw and Ryan O'Neal set at Harvard in the 70's. I know it's super sad, but mostly what I remember are her cute glasses and cross body bag…oh, and of course their tragic romance. Then there was 1994's With Honors where a studious pre-The Mummy Branden Frasier falls in love with his best friend without even knowing it, and of course Good Will Hunting. It may be possible that Ben and Matt had something to do with my move to Cambridge 10 years ago. Oh boy.
So to celebrate this mild infatuation, and more importantly, this cinematic change of seasons I have put together a style board. This is what would be in my dorm room if you know, they had had a decent program…
