Here is the final new piece for January! This one goes out to my Dorothy.
Dorothy has been my across the street neighbor in St. Louis since the day I was born and though she has many grand children of her own has always treated me and my brother as two more. She is an absolutely indispensable part of our lives and is one of the spunkiest, most incredible and inspiring women I know. In fact, right now she is probably at the “Y” doing 'her workout”. Wait, its 7:00am….she is already done.
She's no joke.
This card was inspired by Dorothy, I will tell you her story someday. The image was inspired by my story with her. When I was very young, maybe 5 or 6, Dorothy and her husband John had a white VW Bug with a sunroof. I loved going to the store with them to ride in it, mostly because they would let me stand up in the middle and hang out of the sunroof. Yes, while driving. In fact, we used to drive past my parent's house and honk while I stood up out of the roof and waved like a maniac. Totally safe.
What? It was the early 80's.
So this is my homage to that VW bug. It has been changed to a white Mini Cooper because I want one so bad and I think subconciously I thought that if I put it in a card I would miraculously be able to have one. And just to be clear to the universe… I want the cream one, hard top (convertibles are hard in New England) with black interior.
I have learned the hard way to be very specific when chatting with the universe. I will tell that story someday too.
